Jan Toorop (1858-1928) was a multi-talent who Continuously searched for new styles and techniques. Sunny, pointillated paintings alternate with heavy, symbolic drawings in black and white. Elegant flowing lines from his art nouveau period stand out against angular shapes with which he depicted farm workers and farming families.
